E3 2023 Canceled, Due to Many Vendors Withdrawing?

Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), 2023 event officially cancelled. This cancellation seemed to be the peak of the polemic because previously many big vendors had announced they would not be participating in the event.
Information regarding the cancellation of E3 2023 was announced directly by the official @E3 account on Friday (31/03/2023), which contained a notification that Reedpop and the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) as the event organizers announced that E3 2023 would not be held.
“Reedpop and the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) have announced that the digital and physical booth events for E3 2023 are cancelled,” tweeted @E3.

Meanwhile, according to ReedPop’s VP Global Gaming, Kyle Marsden-Kish, this cancellation was a difficult decision because they had prepared many things so that this event could run well.
“This was a tough decision because of all the work we and our partners have put into making this event happen, but we have to do what’s right for the industry and what’s right for E3,” wrote Kyle. The telephone quote from Engadget on Friday (31/03/2023),.
They also apologized to partners as well as gamers, who plan to visit the event in June 2023.
“To those who are truly committed to E3 2023, we’re sorry we weren’t able to deliver the work you deserve and you expect from the ReedPop event experience,” he continued.
No mention of why E3 2023 was cancelled. However, it was suspected that the cause was because many large vendors withdrew, alias did not participate in the event.
Some of the vendors in question are Microsoft, Nintendo, Ubisoft, Sony and so on. The reason they didn’t participate in E3 2023 was because they decided to hold their own event.

For example Ubisoft announced that they will be holding their own event in June 2023. Likewise, Nintendo and PlayStation usually run their digital events.
As it is known that E3 2023 is an annual event which was first held on May 11, 1995. Every year many game vendors release the latest games and consoles with various advantages offered.
It’s just that during the Covid-19 pandemic, E3 was held online from 2020 to 2022. Along with the decline in Covid-19 cases, E3 2023 will be held again offline in Los Angeles in June 2023. Unfortunately, this plan was abandoned because the event was canceled this year. [NM/HBS]
