Samsung working on OLED screens for MacBook Air 2024

Samsung is currently developing an OLED display panel for the Apple MacBook Air, which is slated for release in late 2024.
As you know, the Apple MacBook has high-end performance and a pretty good screen quality, although not as good as some Windows-based laptops with OLED panels.
Apart from that, Samsung also has the Galaxy Book laptop which uses the famous AMOLED panel which is impressive. Because of the ability to make good screens, Samsung was chosen by Apple to work on OLED screens for the latest MacBook.

Based on a report from The Elec, Samsung has started developing an OLED panel for the 13.3-inch Apple MacBook Air. Although, it’s unclear if and when the MacBook Air, whose display Samsung is developing, will be released.
If you follow previous reports to be believed, Apple will likely announce a laptop with an OLED display by the end of 2024.
Compared to Mini-LED which is widely used in various laptops, including Apple laptops, OLED screens have several advantages, because the screen is thinner, more flexible, and lighter in weight.
In addition, the OLED screen offers sharper and more detailed image quality, more vibrant colors, and supports speed refresh which is higher.

On the other hand, Samsung’s rival, namely LG, is facing production constraints. LG is also currently developing the 11-inch and 13-inch OLED iPad panels which will also be released next year. This leaves LG with no product capacity for other panels, according to a report by The Elec.
The South Korean tech giant is also working on 11-inch iPad panels for Apple, which means it has the capacity to produce panels for the MacBook Air as well. Although, Samsung’s OLED panels for Macbooks could set Apple up against Galaxy Books in the future. [FY/HBS]
